WHAT IS THE STUDENT
EXCHANGE PROGRAM?
International High School Student Exchange Programs have been implemented by 46 countries for approximately 70 years. High school students between the ages of 15-18 spend one or more years of their high school years with volunteer families selected by the Ministries of the relevant country as per high security criteria through Ministry Programs. Exchange students are assigned to the school closest to their family and continue their education. Our students are not observers in the country they live in, but a part of the family they live in, participants who are aware of that culture and the world. The most important point of having a successful exchange year is for our students to become a part of the volunteer families they live in.
Our students, who have various duties for the promotion of Turkey, develop intercultural communication and tolerance in accordance with the main purpose of the program. The program is designed to raise world citizens who speak a foreign language at native level, who can stand on their own feet apart from their natural family, who have made great friendships, who have completed their academic education, and who can perceive the differences in the world.
Ultimately, we hope to foster lasting interest in other cultures while creating lifelong memories for you and your host family. However, our students should remember that this is not a travel or vacation-type program. This is an academic program and requires a GPA of minimum “C” in all courses. Additionally, there are Ministry rules that our students must follow for their safety.
