According to UNESCO data, 50 thousand students from Turkey go abroad to study every year. While students are still in high school, they seek educational opportunities abroad through international exchange programs. The High School Ambassadors International Accreditation Program of WCEP Turkey, the largest high school student exchange program in Turkey, is implemented by 13 public high schools and offers students double diplomas and priority admission to the university.
High school education plays a decisive role in young people's ability to successfully climb the career ladder. In Turkey, where there are 5 million 630 thousand 652 high school students, 50 thousand students go abroad to study every year, according to UNESCO data. Student exchange programs, which turn this trend into an advantage in both bringing the quality of education of high school students to international standards and increasing Turkey's representative power, are becoming increasingly common. One of these programs, the High School Ambassadors International Accreditation Program implemented by the Turkey office of WCEP (Worldwide Cultural Exchange Program), offers the opportunity to obtain double diploma. The student exchange program, implemented in 13 public high schools in 9 cities that implement AP (Advanced Placement), one of the diploma programs, brings many advantages such as priority admission to universities in Turkey and abroad.
APPLICATION CAN BE SUBMITTED FROM THE 8TH GRADE
Giving details about the program, International High School Student Exchange Program WCEP Turkey's General Manager Volkan Cerrahoğlu said, “The High School Ambassadors International Accreditation Program is a student exchange program approved by the Ministry of National Education, Board of Education and Discipline, which we implement within the scope of Secondary Education Institutions and Accreditation Regulations. This program, which all 8th grade and high school students can participate in, allows one year of education in Canada, Germany, England, and the USA after successful completion of the selection exam and interviews. Students returning to Turkey after one year can receive accreditation. Priority admission to universities can also be achieved through national education, AP double diploma program, and United Nations Debate Program. Turkish high school students who are candidates for the program must first be successful in their classes. Level determination exams for the foreign language requested by the desired country are administered by WCEP Turkey. Student candidates are required to know the language of the country they are applying to at least at an intermediate level, to have accreditation in Turkey due to their academic success, to be able to communicate easily with their volunteer families, and not to have difficulties in their social lives.”
