One of those who are most worried about the Coronavirus pandemic are students studying abroad and their families. Hosting students from various countries, Canada has moved the students' education to the digital environment. Students who go from Turkey to Canada with exchange programs continue their education online as a result of the measures taken.

The Coronavirus pandemic, which started in China and affected the whole world, brought about new regulations in education, like many other areas. While educational activities were rapidly moved to digital environments, various measures were taken to prevent curriculum from being disrupted. Those who were most worried during this period were especially students who were studying abroad, away from home and family, and their families. International High School Student Exchange Program WCEP's Turkey General Manager Volkan Cerrahoğlu stated that high school students who went from Turkey to Canada to study were safe in terms of both their health and the continuity of their education.

"Canada's distance education infrastructure is ready under all conditions"
Emphasizing that Canada provides an exemplary picture in the fight against Coronavirus, both with the safe accommodation it provides for its guest students and the distance education infrastructure it offers, Volkan Cerrahoğlu said, "Within the scope of the exchange program we pioneered, high school students in Canada did not return to Turkey in order not to put themselves and their families at risk. They continue their education remotely, safely, with the volunteer families who host them. Because the distance education infrastructure that Canada has already developed makes the country prepared for all conditions. Thus, the education periods of all our students continue without any disruption."

"New-term students will arrive Canada in September"
Cerrahoğlu also stated that they held various meetings in order to avoid any disruption in the transactions of high school students who would go from Turkey to Canada for the 2020-2021 academic period and that they received successful results from these meetings, and said, "With our work, we ensured that there are no restrictions on high school students who will apply for next year. Accordingly, the Canadian Embassy will continue to issue visas to students who apply and win the Canadian high school student exchange program for the next semester, and the students will be able to go to Canada in September to start their education period. As WCEP, we continue to hold the hands of young people who will build our future, and we do not stop walking alongside them for a moment to help them grow up as individuals who are on firm ground. We believe that we will overcome all obstacles with the collaborations we have developed around the world.”
